HAITISES NATIONAL PARK
+ CAYO LEVANTADO ISLAND
The park has an exuberant natural beauty, with impressive landscapes and innumerable biodiversity, it is located in the northeast of the Dominican Republic, framed by the Samana Bay, of which it is a part, and has an area of 600.82 km². It is located in the territories of the provinces of Hato Mayor, Monte Plata and Samana. The public use area of the Park is in the area of the Caño Hondo community, Sabana de la Mar. The word: Haitises comes from the Arawaco which was the Taíno language and means high land or land of mountains, although the set of hills or " mogotes" has heights that oscillate between 30 and 40 meters. An important aspect is the karstic geomorphological formation that determines, among other things, a system of caves such as the caves “de La Reyna”, “de San Gabriel” and “del Ferrocarril” —also known as “de la Línea” or "del Temple" containing pictographs, bas-reliefs and petroglyphs.
Afterwards we take our boat again to go have lunch on the beautiful island of Cayo Levantado and taking a dip in the crystal clear waters is like being in paradise, enjoying the delicacies of the island, swimming, or just lying on the white sand is something magical.
Possibility to visit: every day with departure from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with a minimum of 8 people.
What to bring: closed tennis shoes, swimsuit, towels, sun cream, raincoat in case it rains.
Includes: transportation from hotel or villa, entrance to the park, boat, lunch with non-alcoholic beverages.

+ LUNCH AT CANO HONDO
Caño Hondo is a small river surrounded by mangroves, after having done our tour we ended up in that beautiful place with natural pools called Altos de Caños Hondo where we'll have a delicious lunch.
